Use the Scotch-Brite™ Roloc™ Clean and Strip disc for aggressive paint and rust removal from seams, door frames, moldings, and tight spaces. Our XT discs feature the Roloc fastening system for quick and easy disc changes – ideal for multi-step finishing processes. The disc quickly mounts onto a holder and pad* which is then attached to power tools such as straight grinders and angle grinders. The discs bond silicon carbide mineral and non-woven nylon fibers using a resin that dissolves and breaks down over time, keeping the abrasive material strong and heat-resistant. Silicon carbide is a very sharp synthetic abrasive generally used in low-pressure applications such as paint preparation. It breaks down faster than aluminum oxide for a superior finish. The extra coarse (XCS) mineral works hard to remove unwanted corrosion and imperfections from various substrates. It aggressively removes paint and rust from seams, door frames, moldings, tight spaces, and other hard-to-reach areas. The non-woven technology makes Scotch-Brite industrial abrasives unique. We combine strands, resin, and abrasive mineral to form a thick, open web. The resilient nature of the fibers conforms to contours and effectively removes unwanted burrs, dirt, and contaminants while maintaining the geometry of the workpiece, resulting in less rework and higher productivity. The grinding residue can escape through gaps in the web, preventing the mineral from becoming clogged with particles. Fibers in the web continuously break down during use, exposing fresh minerals. This guarantees exceptional consistency, superior cutting performance, and extremely long life.
