Use the Scotch-Brite™ Clean and Strip unitized wheel to effectively remove scale, rust, surface contaminants, paint, and coatings. Our unitized wheels are also suitable for removing weld discoloration and spatter. The dense, open web construction and aggressive properties ensure a wheel that runs smoothly and resists clogging, even when removing soft coatings. These unitized wheels are filled with silicon carbide abrasive mineral, a synthetic mineral that is very sharp and often used for low-pressure applications such as paint preparation. While it breaks down faster than aluminum oxide, it provides a superior finish. They work well with portable tools and straight grinders to reach tight or narrow spaces. Scotch-Brite™ Abrasives consist of unique surface finishing products with abrasive minerals in a non-woven fiber layer. The combination of abrasive grains and non-woven material creates an abrasive system that delivers consistent results throughout the product's life. The open web material stays cool during use and is clog-resistant. This means the fibers clog less easily and the abrasive minerals continue to perform at a high level.
