Achieve greater flexibility without compromising strength when preparing metal surfaces or removing rust and paint with the Scotch-Brite™ Roloc™+ Clean & Strip XT Pro Extra Cut Disc. Our discs feature a combination of renewed fiber threads, resin, and an aluminum oxide abrasive mineral to form a thick, open web. The elastic nature of the fibers means our discs can follow the contours of the workpiece with greater precision to achieve a larger contact area for faster material removal. They conform to weld seams, allowing for sanding without removal, and access hard-to-reach areas. Aluminum oxide is a very hard mineral that provides high cutting action. It's often used in high-pressure applications like cutting and weld seam removal, aggressively removing heavy rust, thick paint, and corrosion without leaving pits, while simultaneously preparing the underlying base material. This means users can remove a coating from the workpiece to prepare it for welding or bonding operations with the same disc, saving time spent changing abrasives. Furthermore, the grinding dust can escape through holes in the web, reducing clogging. The disc's reinforcing resin gradually breaks down with use, releasing new fibers and super-sharp aluminum oxide abrasive, ensuring consistent cutting action throughout the disc's life. The high-quality fibers resist flaking, offer low vibration, high-speed operation, and long life. These discs provide low vibration and less sparking, a high-speed rating, and long life, and come with the added benefit of a Roloc™ attachment. The Roloc™+ button is attached to the full disc, improving strength and ease of use, and allowing the edge of the disc to be used for cleaning weld seams in corners and other hard-to-reach areas. Users can quickly attach the disc to a Roloc™ backing pad (sold separately) that is connected to the power tool. This reduces setup and connection time, contributing to higher productivity.
