Use durable Scotch-Brite™ Surface Conditioning belts in low-tension applications such as cleaning, blending, deburring, and finishing all types of metal. Our belts are built to last and consist of a resin-bonded non-woven fiber structure that resists clogging and won't groove or scratch the workpiece. They feature a coarse aluminum oxide abrasive for fast cutting throughout the belt's life and offer superior edge stability. All these belts are suitable for low-tension applications. Furthermore, a scrim (canvas fabric) is incorporated into the nylon structure of our surface conditioning products for extra strength and durability when edge working and deburring and blending all types of metal. The combination of the non-woven fiber structure with the abrasive grain is ideal for an excellent finish and effective deburring. Our Scotch-Brite SE Surface Conditioning belts have a coarse aluminum oxide abrasive for fast cutting and long life. This is a strong, durable mineral abrasive that self-sharpens continuously during use, revealing new cutting edges. This is in contrast to traditional abrasive minerals like garnet, which wear down quickly during use. Aluminum oxide abrasives cut fast, are hard and strong, and retain little heat. This makes them ideal for grinding, sanding, and finishing many different materials. Belt sanders are used for fast grinding, sanding, and finishing a variety of substrates. Depending on the material being processed, grinding wheels and discs can clog quickly, reducing effectiveness. However, belt sanders continue to sand efficiently without clogging because the small grooves in the belt open up as they reach the curvature of the drive wheel.
