Use Scotch-Brite™ Clean and Finish Discs to reach hard-to-reach areas for finishing, paint preparation, surface blending, and sanding. Our conformable, clean and finish discs are suitable for finishing, paint preparation, surface blending, and light sanding, as well as contour finishing and paint sanding. They feature an abrasive mineral that blends, finishes, and polishes metals, composites, and advanced surfaces, and is an effective abrasive for paint preparation, sanding, and removing light corrosion. These discs do not clog or heat up, providing consistently consistent conditioning properties throughout the product's lifespan. These discs contain abrasive material based on silicon carbide, aluminum oxide, or talc. Silicon carbide is a very sharp synthetic abrasive generally used in low-pressure applications such as paint preparation and finishing. Aluminum oxide is a hard, block-structured mineral with a powerful cutting action and long lifespan. Silicon carbide wears down faster than aluminum oxide but also provides a finer finish. Talc is a mild abrasive used to achieve a matte finish. Combined with polishing agent, it provides a high-gloss finish when polishing a topcoat. Scotch-Brite abrasives consist of unique surface treatment products with abrasive minerals in a non-woven fiber layer. Combining abrasive grains with non-woven material creates an abrasive system that delivers consistent results throughout the product's lifespan. The open web material stays cool during use and is clog-resistant. This means the fibers clog less easily and the abrasive minerals continue to perform at a high level.
