The Scotch-Brite™ Ultrafine Hand Pad 7448 is a valuable addition to any workshop. Its durable open web structure resists clogging and provides long life and consistent abrasive action for pre- and post-processing metal surfaces, paint preparation and cleaning, finishing, and polishing. You won't need to adjust, flip, or replace them mid-job. Our grey pad fits into small corners and detailed surfaces and maintains its shape. It's intended as a superior alternative to steel wool, working cleaner and longer. The pad doesn't fray during use, doesn't rust after use, and leaves no fine metal splinters. They are versatile and can be used manually, in combination with a hand pad block, or on a belt sander for faster work on larger areas. This pad is filled with a silicon carbide abrasive grain, a very sharp synthetic mineral typically used in low-pressure applications such as paint preparation. It breaks down faster than aluminum oxide and provides a superior finish. Our Scotch-Brite Abrasive Sponges are unique surface conditioning products with abrasive grains embedded in a non-woven fiber layer. The combination of abrasive grains and non-woven material creates an abrasive system that delivers consistent results throughout the product's life. The open web material stays cool during use and is clog-resistant, so the fibers are less likely to become clogged and the abrasive minerals continue to perform at a high level.
