Easily reach tight spaces with our versatile, durable, and flexible Scotch-Brite™ Hand Pad 7448 PRO – a more efficient alternative to steel wool that offers faster pre- and post-processing of metal surfaces and paint preparation than conventional non-woven abrasives. Unlike fine steel wool, Scotch-Brite Hand Pads 7448 PRO do not fray during use, rust after use, or leave behind fine metal splinters. They feature a durable open web design that resists clogging and promotes long life. These pads work cleaner and longer than steel wool. Our pad utilizes densely packed abrasive particles for consistent, uniform abrasive action throughout the pad's life. Designed for ease of use, the pad fits into tight corners and surfaces with small details without altering the dimensions of the base material. Use them for cleaning, finishing, and polishing without needing to adjust, flip, or replace them mid-job. Use our versatile hand pad manually, in combination with a hand pad block, or on a belt sander for faster work on larger areas. Our pad is filled with a silicon carbide abrasive grain, a very sharp synthetic mineral commonly used in low-pressure applications such as paint preparation. The mineral breaks down faster than aluminum oxide, resulting in a superior finish. Scotch-Brite PRO abrasives are unique surface conditioning products consisting of abrasive grains embedded in non-woven nylon fibers. The breakthrough fiber coating technology creates a higher cut rate and more consistent scratch pattern than competing non-woven abrasives, for greater efficiency across a range of tasks. Combining abrasive grains with non-woven material creates an abrasive system that delivers consistent results throughout the pad's life. The open web material is clog-resistant, allowing the abrasive minerals to maintain high performance because the nylon fibers clog less easily.
