Use the Scotch-Brite™ Finishing Wheel for Metal to blend minor imperfections and to give softer metals a decorative finish. Our wheels can also effectively blend 3 or 4 mill finishes on stainless steel, providing a brushed or satin finish on various items such as cutlery, appliance trim, hardware, and plumbing fixtures. The wheels are typically used on stationary machinery and are available in CRS and MED grades and in diameters from 152.4 mm to 406.4 mm and widths of 12.7 mm and larger. They are highly conformable and utilize aluminum oxide, a strong, fast-cutting mineral that leaves a consistent finish. Aluminum oxide mineral, widely used in grinding, sanding, and finishing, retains little heat. The controlled abrasive action helps prevent cupping or grooving and can be used on many substrates, including wood and metal, including ferrous metal. Scotch-Brite industrial abrasive materials incorporate unique surface treatment products where the abrasive minerals are embedded in non-woven nylon or synthetic fibers. The combination of abrasive material and fibers creates an abrasive system that delivers consistent results throughout the product's life. We have chosen an open web material that stays cool during use and is clog-resistant. This keeps the fibers from clogging and allows the abrasive minerals to maintain high performance.
