For cleaning, finishing, and light deburring, use our durable and flexible Scotch-Brite™ Surface Conditioning Low Stretch Belt. Our belts cut effectively while preventing damage to substrates. They are ideal for use on profiled and uneven surfaces. The belts perform best on steel, stainless steel, carbon, titanium, and nickel alloys, and can be used on aluminum, red and yellow copper, and soft non-ferrous metals. They are available in a wide variety specifically for numerous different applications. Scotch-Brite Surface Conditioning Low Stretch Belts are formulated with aluminum oxide and silicon carbide minerals. They are available in a variety of combinations, such as: aluminum oxide medium (A MED), aluminum oxide very fine (A VFN), aluminum oxide coarse (A CRS), silicon carbide medium (S MED), silicon carbide superfine (S SFN), and silicon carbide very fine (S VFN). Aluminum oxide cuts softer but lasts longer than silicon carbide. It is ideal when a soft scratch is desired, such as on softer metals or when grooving and metal erosion are a major concern. For a coarser, more aggressive cut, silicon carbide is a good choice. Our finer grits provide a finer finish, while medium or coarse grits yield a coarser finish. Our belts are designed for use in applications where little stretch is needed, where a standard canvas belt stretches on the machine, or where less deformability is desired. They are resistant to wear and sharp edges and are useful in numerous industries, from transportation to metal fabrication. Choose from a variety of belt types, from file to narrow to portable to tubular and wide and flat finish. When choosing a belt, consider the tools, surface area, contours, and dimensions of the workpiece. Narrow belts are typically used in benchstand and backstand applications. Tubular materials are placed around expansion wheels and used for finishing large equipment that cannot be moved. Industrial Scotch-Brite open-web abrasives are unique and offer many advantages. The non-woven technology combines fiber threads, resin, and abrasive minerals to form a thick, open web. The fibers are flexible and conform to contours while effectively removing unwanted burrs, dirt, and contaminants, preserving the workpiece geometry. This results in less rework and increased productivity. The abrasive particles can escape through the open web, preventing clogging by residue. Fibers in the web continuously break down during use, exposing fresh minerals. This guarantees exceptional consistency, superior cutting performance, and an extremely long service life. Scotch-Brite products are designed to increase productivity and make work easier. From aesthetic finishing to weld blending, deburring, and more: they work fast and deliver consistent results.
